Chloe's new stroller

We bought Chloe a new stroller over the weekend. This one is lighter to push, more seating options and most importantly, this one has good suspension that is made for outdoor. I like it a lot when we took it for a full test on Monday.

She seems to be very interested in the wheels. Sometimes when she does not want to sit inside, she likes to push the stroller a lot. This is a good way for her to learn walking and less work for mommy. ;)

As you can see from the picture, she has lot more room to grow into. She looks like a small baby again in the new stroller, haha...

Oh yeah, she definitely likes this one!

Family Portraits

We finally received those family portraits taken on Chloe's one year birthday. I am quite happy with the quality this time. We try to capture some nice moments on her memorable dates. Hopefully, it will be a wonderful gift to Chloe when she grows up.

Major Milestones

During the first year of growth, Chloe has many many firsts. I should note them down as time goes by they might be forgotten.
********************************************************************
>>>>>> The first picture was taken when she was around 4 months old. By then, she was no longer drinking mommy breast milk, but fully depending on formula. Her eyes were able to focus without problem, no more crossing.
>>>>>>
She was born with lots of curly hair not only on her head but on her back and shoulders too, they were all gone by then. Her head in the picture appears to be quite bold. Her body hair were all gone too, her skin looked very white and smooth because she has not had too many chances to see the sun yet.
>>>>>>
She started to sleep in her crib on her own now. We usually give her some milk at around 9-10pm. She will fall asleep with that. Then we put her to the crib with the heat on. Most of the time, she can sleep all the way to 6am next morning.

>>>>>> This was a picture taken on her 6 month birthday. She was able to stand on my laps and sit with support. She was also practicing rolling back and forth.
>>>>>>
We started feeding her solids. She reacts to different type of food with different facial expression. It's like she was tasting them and she had her preferences. Very funny looking.

>>>>>> 10 month is a big milestone for Chloe when we were in New Zealand. The first day we landed there, she knew how to crawl suddenly. She was crawling at friends place playing with her cat before we even got home.
>>>>>>
She started teething almost the second day we got to NZ. I had to run to the store to get her some gum soothing gel cuz she was not able to sleep at night. After 1 week teething, the bottom two came out.
>>>>>>
My sister bought Chloe a Pooh Walker. At first she thought it was the jumper at home, kept jumping when she was in it. After a while, she figured out she can move around with this thing. Since then, she was everywhere. Kitchen - opening all drawers; digging into the garbage; watching aunt cooking. Dinning room - pulling the table cloth; playing with the window blinds. Living room - tearing the leaves on the plants; scaring the birds; sticking her fingers into the tape player, etc. She got her freedom and she's mobile now officially.

>>>>>> Who has seen a baby sitting on a potty before their 1 year birthday? We started her potty training when she was 11 months old, just to see if it's possible.
>>>>>>
Guess what, it is possible. Here is how we do it. She has that look when she starts pushing. So I quickly moved her onto the potty and give her a book. So far she's doing very well, 90% of the time, she is able to sort it out while sitting on the potty.
>>>>>>
Of course, there is other time you thought she won't do it. As soon as you changed her with a new diaper, wrapped everything up, she did it. Oh well, that's life. :D

>>>>>> Finally, Chloe's reaching her 1 year birthday. She's no longer an infant, but a real toddler now.
>>>>>>
She can pick up small objects using just two fingers and of course it's not a problem for her to transfer these objects into her mouth. (Even though they are not food.)
>>>>>>
She can even move herself from downstairs to the second floor, third floor and back down. This was taught by her grandpa. She was very afraid at first, refused to try. By now, she can do this so fast and easily. This is a good way to burn her energy before bed time. It's just we have to keep changing her outfits. Also, the safty gate (still brand new) is out of use.
>>>>>>
She is able to react to your words both in Chinese and English. For example, ask her where the plane is, she will look up and point to the sky. When she did something naughty, you shout at her, she will do what you see on the picture, making your face all wet.

>>>>>> Chloe even reacts to music quite well. She starts to dance when fast music is playing. For slow music, she will start humming and moving her body slowly.

Chloe as a happy baby

When Chloe was no longer a new born, she loves to smile at everyone. Here are some evidence of a happy baby.

But sometimes, because she was too social, she does run out of energy too.

And when she wakes up, she needs to be fed with lots. Note, this does not include the table...

Chloe as a new born

This time, we are going to see some of Chloe's new born pictures.

This one was taken on the first day Chloe and I returned home from the hospital. Does she has anything look like now?

This one was taken when grandpa was leaving, so she was not even one month old yet. Look how much room there was in the car seat. Now that car seat is way to small for her, she switched to a forward facing one about two months ago.

Here is another on her one month birthday. She was crossed eye in the picture I think.

Southland Country Fair - Sept 13, 2009

Whole family went to the Southland riding club for their annual country fair. I wanted to have Chloe ride on one of those pony, but Daddy said she's too young for that. Still, Chloe was able to enjoy the event by touching (actually squeezing) the baby snake, watching horses eating carrots, and riding on the wagons.

Chloe's 1st birthday - August 28, 2009

My princess has just passed her one year birthday. I cannot believe how time flies, it's been one full year already! During this year, there were memories of joy and love. I selected some of these pictures to highlight this wonderful journey. They will be published separately in groups in my future posts.

Here is a photo of Chloe at her birthday party. She slept the whole time during the party, we had to wake her up for the cake. when she woke up, she was very unhappy to blow her candles. This is the best photo I got since she appears to be very lost in all the other ones.

Here is a funny video we took on the day of her birthday. Take a look, you will laugh.... She's probably practicing blowing the candle already.

Here is another video called ZhuaZhou. This is a Chinese tradition for 1 year old baby to choose her favorite stuff. Whatever baby chose, it means the type of person he/she will likely to become in the future.

Finally my blog is here!

Even though it's more than a year late, mommy still thinks Princess Chloe should have her own blog. So I will start to post Chloe's new born pictures & videos all the way to the latest ones just to catch up. Ah.... a lot of work!

In FB, there are tons of Chloe's pictures even before she's born. When you have a moment, take a look at them in the following order:
